It is subtle in its destructiveness, but destructive none the less.

Another day done. Another check mark. Another exhale.

Oh the treasures to be found!

The Gospel is good for me. The Gospel is Christ being good for me because I am not.

What if there was a different way? What if, instead of getting frustrated at waiting, there was an opportunity to wait well?

'Twas the end of the day and all through the home, Not a creature was stirring as momma at last sits alone.

The true battle of grey days however is fought in the heart and in the mind.

No matter how far you have strayed, it is not too far. No matter what you are in the middle of, it is not too late.

As a response, I wrote my own ‘Psalm 119’, my own song of delight in God’s Word. 

While I type this reflection in response to another year, what I want to be true in my life is this: that I practicing presence with a heart of gratitude.

"Because God is real..." I was asked to finish this sentence, and these were my reflections while on an ice breaker last winter.

I felt so unqualified, young and inexperienced, unsure what the future looked like, but even then felt this tug on my heart...

Here I am, sitting on the carpet with my girls getting frustrated with a Barbie because her hips are too wide and her thighs too thick. And I think to myself (thankfully not out loud) “GAH! If only she looked like the other barbies....”

Unlike Gros Morne Mountain, when clouds roll in and obscure all but my next steps, I do not have to turn back.

I am learning to be an active participant in my life, to sit and be present and take in what is right infront of me.

I am like a piece of green glass on a pebbly seashore…

A poem written a few months ago for my sweet, brave daughters.

In each plunge, I have no regret. So every day I affirm the choice to jump in and embrace Christ's abundant life.

"So be afraid. Then do it anyway." I'm not a good writer. I just have to start. And keep going. And not stop.
